I have gotten very used to accepting my playing as the essential limit on my creative output and going back to doing surgery all day in the day seems.unnatural. I dont really use the DAW anymore as an instrument, and it all feels a bit hazy why I would want to. But I am not entirely sure why I would want my hardware and the DAW so intimately involved.ĭoes anyone have a narrative that makes this more clear? I have recently use the DAW as a midi recorder and sequencer only, or I use it to capture audio from my synths, but not much in between. I have a Roland Fantom 6, an MPC X, and these are both devices which to some extent can talk to Ableton. I have subjectively felt sometimes that midi that I play in doesn't line up or is out of time or gets slightly mangled and seeing it in print made me feel weird.Ībleton has never been my favorite but I did use to use it for audio based sound making.
